''Herpetogramma hipponalis'' is a moth in the Crambidae family. It was described by Walker in 1859. It is found in Malaysia, China, the Keeling Islands, Guadalcanal, New Guinea and Australia, where it has been recorded from the Northern Territory and Queensland. The wingspan is about 20 mm. Adults are bright yellow with dark brown zig-zag lines across the wings. The larvae feed on ''Ipomoea batatas''. Older larvae create a shelter in a folded leaf of their host plant which is closed with silk. The larvae are green with black marks on the thorax.〔(Lepidoptera Larvae of Australia )〕 ==References==
